Daniela Forti è nata a Roma nel 1960, dove si è diplomata alla Scuola d'Arte. Giovanissima, studia e apprende nelle botteghe artigiane della capitale le tecniche dell'arte del vetro. Nel 1982 si trasferisce in Toscana, dove apre il suo studio. È in questo contesto che affina e sviluppa una ricerca del tutto personale, basata sul rapporto luce-vetro. Ama il suo lavoro, si esprime con il colore, la trasparenza e la luce del vetro, un materiale così pericoloso e difficile da manipolare ma che è anche un materiale meraviglioso, quasi magico. Ricorda che l'ispirazione per lavorare il vetro le è venuta osservando i soffiatori di vetro e il loro processo creativo, da quel momento in poi quello che era iniziato come un sogno è diventato realtà.
