Marinella Careddu “Mary” nota Marina, nasce nel 1954 a Tertenia (OG), dove tutt’ora risiede.
Autodidatta, tratta vari soggetti fra cui i paesaggi marini, montani ecc., gli ambienti “rurali” come vecchie abitazioni, mestieri e usanze, le nature morte, i fiori e la figura. Predilige dipingere con l’acrilico su tela ma utilizza anche l’olio su tela e l’inchiostro di china, pastelli e carboncino su cartoncino. La pittura di Mary può essere ricondotta allo stile “realista” e presta attenzione anche ai più piccoli particolari.
Ha iniziato la sua carriera di pittrice nel 2001 e ad esporre nel 2006, tenendo varie mostre personali e collettive, in Sardegna e nel resto dell’Italia, riscontrando il favore del pubblico. Dal 2009 entra a far parte del gruppo di artisti “Artisti Ogliastra Associati”, poi conglobato nell’associazione culturale “Giuilea Fucine d’Arte”. Tra le altre, è stata selezionata al “Primo Premio Internazionale Città di New York 2009”, al “Premio Internazionale di Pittura Scultura e Grafica Arte Città Amica 2010” e alla “Prima Contemporanea Città di Montignoso”. E’ stata anche inserita nel Censimento Artistico Italiano (C.A.I. 2010) e nel Catalogo delle Quotazioni della Galleria Alba.
Marinella Careddu 'Mary', known as Marina, was born in 1954 in Tertenia (OG), where she still lives.
Self-taught, she treats various subjects including seascapes, mountains etc., 'rural' environments such as old houses, trades and customs, still lifes, flowers and the figure. She prefers painting with acrylics on canvas but also uses oil on canvas and Indian ink, pastels and charcoal on cardboard. Mary's painting can be traced back to the 'realist' style and she pays attention to even the smallest details.
She started her career as a painter in 2001 and began exhibiting her work in 2006, holding various solo and group exhibitions in Sardinia and the rest of Italy, gaining favour with the public. Since 2009, she has been a member of the group of artists 'Artisti Ogliastra Associati', later incorporated into the cultural association 'Giuilea Fucine d'Arte'. Among others, she was selected for the 'First International Prize of the City of New York 2009', the 'International Painting Sculpture and Graphics Prize Arte Città Amica 2010' and the 'Prima Contemporanea Città di Montignoso'. She was also included in the Italian Artistic Census (C.A.I. 2010) and in the Alba Gallery's Catalogue of Quotations.
